Room kits that use the standalone Meet-compute Chromebased system feature a built-in Intel i7 processor with single-side ports for easy installation, and designed specifically for Google Meet. The Meet Compute system that comes with Series One kits users power-over-ethernet to supply power to its components. The Meet Compute system for Logitech and ASUS kits provides USB connectivity to its components.
Key Hints
It's ideal to have a wired network connection for the Google Meet Compute System. A wired network connection usually results in better performance than connecting to wireless.
Google Meet also supports Android-based devices from Logitech and Poly, which offers embedded computing capability. This gives you more options in the Google Meet-certified devices that meet your organization's needs. Android-based devices also give you the flexibility to run Meet, or another third-party conferencing platform, based on admin configuration. Customers with existing Poly or Logitech Android-based devices will be able to leverage their investment and move to Meet by just adding a Meet license for these devices.
The Google Meet Compute System can be mounted on the rear side of the display screens, in a cabinet below the screens if you have one, or alternatively on or under the table. Wall and table top mounts are available to facilitate different mounting options.
You only need a single power supply for the Series One Room Kits. The power supply feeds the Series One Meet Compute System, and from here, a single ethernet cable supplies data and power (PoE) to each of the the Series One components. Remember to consider cable routes and also power supplies for other equipment such as the screens.
Key Hints
For other Meet hardware kits you may also need to consider different cabling and power supplies. Refer to the services section for more information.
